The iChIS System gives Early Years Teams the ability to work together and share data easily. The user-friendly and effective system enables them to manage, maintain and deliver childcare and early years information, without duplication of effort.
Continual Enhancements
The ChIS database has been developed and enhanced to meet the needs of CISs. Enhancements are requested through the Consultative Panel as part of the ongoing development process. Previously, the developments to ChIS have focused on CIS needs, but it has long been recognised that Early Years Teams collect and distribute similar information. Consequently this has meant duplication in the processes used and in the information gathered.
Integration
Opportunity Links identified the need for a fully integrated early years system.

The result? iChIS - an integrated early years system designed to manage childcare, training, recruitment and pathways to registration data - fully funded by the DfES across Early Years Teams in England.
